Food & Drugs Administration

In specific processes as for food and pharmaceutical, materials in touch with  the product must be in compliance with specific regulations.

World wild the most important norm about process contamination is issued by the Food&Drugs Administration (FDA).

The regulation classify food in three macro groups and takes into account the repeated contact between material and product, drawing up a list of accepted materials and indicating how contact tests must be performed.

The purpose of the list is to report materials and finishes of the same, suitable for contact with food. Therefore the FDA certification of the materials that make up a mechanical seal make it suitable for use in food and pharmaceutical field.
